New Direction / BMW R 12 Custom Project  

BMW MotorradとRISER magazineのコラボレーションによって2024年春にキックオフしたR 12 Custom Project。この プロジェクトでは、これまで多彩なカスタムバイクを手掛けてきたHAMANS Custom、TRIJYA Custom Motorcycles、MOONEYES、Chirihama Sand Flatsの4ビルダーがカスタムR 12の制作に着手。スタイルも手法も、そしてそのフィロソ フィーも異なるビルダーたちが、これまで自身が築き上げてきた世界観を余すところなく表現した珠玉のカスタムバイクが4ヶ月に及ぶ製作期間を経てついに完成した。BMW Motorradのアイコンたる空油冷ボクサーエンジンと、シンプルを極めたスチールチューブラーフレームというキャンバスにビルダーたちが描き出したものとは何か——そのすべてがいま明らかに!!

BMW Motorrad and Riser Magazine collaborated to create the R 12 custom project, which kicked off in the spring of 2024. For the project, it was decided that 4 companies (Hamans Custom, Trijya Custom Motorcycles, Mooneyes, and Chirihama Sandflats) would each craft an R 12 custom. Each has its own style and customization approach, and after 4 months of building, the finished products reflecting the builders’respective worldviews have been completed. What did they create on the canvas of BMW Motorrad’s iconic air-oil-cooled boxer engine and the minimalist steel tubular frame? Now, you can have a look for yourself.

WEST COAST FXR JAM 2024

本誌vol.02の特集FXR-ISMで紹介したWEST COAST FXR JAMから早2年。SNSコミュニティ“FXR BAZAAR”が主催するONLY FXR のビッグパーティが、今季もNevadaの Topaz Lodgeを舞台に開催され、全国から多数のFXR狂が集結した。残念ながら前回終了後、FXR BAZAARのファウンダーNick Hinzo が代表を降板したが、 新代表に就任したKyle Cassanoが見事に取り仕切り、パーティは難なく閉幕。今特集ではFXR JAM 2024に来場したFXR狂とその愛機をレポートする。

It has already been 2 years since we covered the West Coast FXR Jam in the“FXR- ism”special feature in the second issue of Riser. Like last time, this year’s event, sponsored by the social media community FXR Bazaar, was held at Topaz Lodge in Nevada, and FXR freaks from throughout the US flocked to the event. Unfortunately, FXR Jam founder Nick Hinzo resigned from heading the event after the previous one ended, but Kyle Cassono did a fantastic job as the new head, and the party ended without a hitch. In this special feature, we report on the FXR freaks who attended FXR Jam, along with their machines.

長瀬智也、CHALLENGER RRをかく語りき。

2022年度のKING OF THE BAGGERSで年間チャンプとなったINDIAN MOTORCYCLE RACINGに所属するTyler O'Hara。彼が乗るゼッケンのワークスレーサーとほぼ同スペックのクローンが世界台限定で発売されスキモノをザワつかせたのはいまだ記憶に新しいが その1台を手に入れたのは、言わずと知れた表現者・長瀬智也だ!

Tyler O’Hara, who belongs to the Indian Motorcycle Racing team, was the 2022 champion of the King of the Baggers races. Indian did a limited release of 29 (O’Hara’s racing number is 29) works racers with virtually the same specs, driving race fans wild. One of the machines was purchased by none other than the famous artist Tomoya Nagase.

近年アメリカで人気のバガーレース。その最高峰はH-DやIndianのファクトリー勢が参加するKing of Baggerだが、独立系カテゴリとしてBagger Racing League (BRL)も注目を集めている。2024年7月、弊誌はオハイオ州で開催されたレースに潜入してきた。

Bagger races are currently popular in the US, and bagger racing’s biggest event is King of the Baggers, in which factory racers from Harley-Davidson and Indian battle it out. However, the independently operated Bagger Racing League (BRL) has also been attracting a lot of attention, and in July 2024, we visited one of the BRL events held in Ohio.
