YOKOHAMA DISCO CHOPPERS

世界中のカスタム狂が押し寄せかつてない盛り上がりを見せたHOT ROD CUSTOM SHOW 2024。広大な敷地を誇るパシフィコ横浜を埋め尽くすは、徹底的に作り込まれたChopper や、一片の曇りなく磨き込まれた珠玉のHot-Rod。むせ返るような熱気に包まれたその会場で、ひときわ異彩を放つブースがありき―――1990 年代に多感な時期を過ごした３人のクリエイターによるそのプロジェクトは、“Back to the 90s”という明確なコンセプトを共有する３台のH-Dがローンチされた―――あれから2年。遂に３機が揃って路上デビューを果たした今、長瀬智也と桂川 弦、田口 悟がYOKOHAMA DISCO CHOPPERSを回想する。

The 2024 Hot Rod Custom show was visited by an unprecedented number of custom enthusiasts, and the vast interior of Pacifico Yokohama was filled with meticulously crafted choppers and flawlessly polished hot rod gems. At the venue, brimming with enthusiasm, there was one booth that stood out from the rest. There, three creators who had spent their formative years in the 1990s displayed three Harley-Davidsons customized with a “back to the ‘90s” concept. It was the launch of the “Yokohama Disco Choppers” project, and now, two years later, their three bikes have finally made it out on the road. In this feature, Tomoya Nagase, Gen Katsuragawa, and Satoru Taguchi reflect on the project.

FRISCO CHOPPERS BIKE SHOW

サンフランシスコで開催される話題のカスタムバイクショー“FRISCO CHOPPERS BIKE SHOW”が、去る1月18日に開催された。雨天も多い冬季のベイエリアに関わらず好天に恵まれた3 度目の開催は、ウエストコーストのみならず北米全土、更には海外からもオーディエンスが押し寄せ、想定を超える2000人超の動員を記録。ピーク時は定員オーバーという嬉しい悲鳴も! かくして終日熱気に包まれた会場では、日本からの来場者も散見された。本誌では2024年度の初回から昨年の2回目に続く3度目のレポートとなるが、今季は取材のみならずブース出展も敢行。RISERの発刊を心待ちにするベイエリアのバイカーたちと親睦を深めることができた。

The Frisco Choppers Bike Show, a hot custom bike show held in San Francisco, took place for the third time on January 18, 2026. Although the Bay Area is prone to rain in the winter, the event was greeted with great weather, and the number of visitors was even larger than expected. Over 2,000 visitors came not only from the West Coast but also throughout the US and abroad. At their peak, the crowds exceeded the venue’s capacity, which could be called a good problem to have. One could even find some visitors and exhibitors from Japan at the venue, which was filled with excitement throughout the day. This year was our third time reporting on the show since it was first held in 2024, and in addition to taking pictures and doing interviews, we also set up a booth. It was great getting to know some of the Bay Area bikers who look forward to reading each issue of our magazine.

CABALLERO SCRAMBLER 700 

スチールチューブラーフレームにパワフルな2 気筒エンジンを搭載したCaballero Scrambler 700。ストリート・スクランブラーとして生を受けたマシンに秘められていたカフェレーサーとしての可能性̶̶。46works の中嶋志朗が描くストリートカフェの理想像が、ついに完成形としてストリートに降り立った。

The Caballero Scrambler 700 has a powerful 2-cylinder engine mounted in a steel tubular frame. Although the Scrambler 700 was created as a street scrambler, Shiroh Nakajima of 46 Works aimed to unleash its innate potential as a cafe racer. Now, the machine he envisioned is finally out on the road.
